Job summary

Vault Pressure Control, LLC is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, service and repair surface wellhead systems. You will perform field service, assembly and repairs on new, reman and customer property, while ensuring safety and quality standards and minimizing downtime for customers.

Based in a home workshop with travel to customer locations, you’ll work 12–14 hour shifts on a rotating schedule, on-call 24/7, and occasional extended stays at other company locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of field service experience.
• Strong mechanical knowledge and problem solving.
• Valid US work authorization and driver's license.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Field service, assembly, and repair of new, reman and customer property.
• Plan and coordinate activities; investigate and resolve customer reports of technical problems.
• Provide 24/7 on-call field service.
• Travel to customer sites; occasional overtime and extended stays at other locations.
• Install, repair Vault Pressure Control equipment; minimize downtime and manage costs.
• Shop work during training or downtime; handle customer complaints professionally.
• Communicate with Company Representative on procedures and spare parts.
• Record critical dimensions; review assembly procedures.
• Ship correct equipment and tooling to service locations.
• Prepare and submit Field Service Orders and reports.
• Complete tally books or forms to communicate procedures and questions.
• Work safely per EHS and quality processes.
• Complete shift reports and logs; climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
• Lift up to 40 pounds; work 12–14 hour shifts on rotating schedule.
• Other duties as assigned.

Description

Performs multiple tasks associated with field installation, service, maintenance, troubleshoot and repair of surface wellhead systems.

Essential Functions

• Field Service, assembly, and repair of new, reman and customer property.


• Plans and coordinates activities with installing equipment, investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminating future operational service difficulties per job specification.


• While on scheduled shift, the position requirement is to provide field service on a 24-hour on-call basis for existing and new customers.


• Job will be primarily based in their home-based workshop but will also include customer location visits including but not limited to, overtime and working for other divisions of the Company and/or extensive travel with extended stays at other Company locations.


• Works independently to install new products and conduct repairs of Vault Pressure Control equipment ensuring no rig lost time for our customers while controlling expenses and maintaining assets.


• Duties may require working in Shop when in training or not out of service jobs.


• Handles customer complaints in a professional manner


• Maintains effective communication with Company Representative on issues including job procedures and spare parts requirements.


• Records critical dimensions to ensure assembly will work and obtains and reviews product assembly/running procedures.


• Responsibly for shipping correct equipment and tooling to location for service jobs


• Prepares and submits Field Service Orders and other region required reports after each job is complete.


• Completes a Tally Book or other forms to communicate procedures, spare parts, critical dimensions and customer questions and complaints.


• Work in a safe manner in compliance with VPC EHS and quality processes and procedures.


• Complete shift reports and logs


• Must be able to climb up and climb down a ladder from work locations.


• Must be able to work in confined spaces.


• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.


• Ability to work 12 TO 14-hour shifts, day and night on a rotating schedule and weekends as needed.


• Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 2 years field service tech experience.


• Must be authorized to work in the United States


• High school diploma or GED


• Current valid driver’s license


• Demonstrated good working knowledge of mechanical processes.


• Technical, vocational, or military training or related experience is a plus.


• Surface Wellhead installation and repair experience a plus but not required.


• At least one year mechanical, electronic and hydraulic related experience


• Demonstrated good customer service skills – communication skills, positive interpersonal and problem-solving skills.


• Demonstrated good organizational skills.

Work Environment

• Regular exposure to moving mechanical components, airborne fumes, and particles.


• Exposure to heat, cold, wet and snow conditions


• Moderate noise levels
