Ridge Equipment Co. in the Maryland/DC area is seeking Field Service Technicians who will install cabling, antennas, and equipment at diverse sites. You’ll travel to job sites most days and earn a company vehicle after one year based on reliability and driving record.

We provide extensive on‑the‑job training and growth toward advanced wireless and fiber work. You’ll start with hands‑on field work, reading drawings, and documenting progress using a phone or tablet.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience terminating coax or copper cable (Cat6 jacks, patch panels, plugs).
• Ability to read drawings or work orders and install to them.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Install cabling, equipment, and antennas to construction drawings and company standards.
• Run, terminate, and test coax, fiber, and copper cable.
• Mount and wire equipment in telecom racks.
• Label cable and equipment, and keep documentation accurate as work progresses.
• Capture photos and closeout documentation on a phone or tablet.
• Represent Ridge professionally with customers, building staff, and other trades.

About the Role

Ridge Equipment has built wireless systems since 1995. We design and install DAS, small cell, and in-building wireless networks for major carriers at stadiums, hospitals, and commercial buildings across the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region.

We're hiring Field Service Technicians and will train you on our systems. If you've worked as a cable, satellite, low voltage, or telecom tech, you already have most of what it takes. You'll work alongside experienced lead technicians and grow into more advanced wireless and fiber work.

You’ll travel to a different job site most days and head home at night. Technicians who show reliability and a clean driving record can earn a company vehicle after one year, and experienced hires may qualify at hire.

What You'll Do

• Install cabling, equipment, and antennas to construction drawings and company standards
• Run, terminate, and test coax, fiber, and copper cable
• Mount and wire equipment in telecom racks
• Label cable and equipment, and keep documentation accurate as work progresses
• Capture photos and closeout documentation on a phone or tablet
• Represent Ridge professionally with customers, building staff, and other trades

What We'll Train You On

• Installing DAS antennas, remote units, radios, and BBUs
• Rack and stack work to rack elevations and port maps
• Fiber splicing, termination, and testing
• Hardline coax and jumper installation
• GPS antenna installs
• DC power terminations and grounding to code
• Advanced testing: OTDR, sweep, and PIM
• RF fundamentals and supporting carrier commissioning

What You Need on Day One

• A strong eye for detail and pride in neat, clean work
• Hands-on experience terminating coax or copper cable (Cat6 jacks, patch panels, plugs)
• Ability to read drawings or work orders and install to them
• Comfort using a phone or tablet for forms and photos
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable personal transportation

A Big Plus

• Fiber optic installation or termination experience
• Rack and stack or data center experience
• Any experience with DAS, small cell, or cellular equipment
• Low voltage DC power or grounding experience
• Military communications background

Other Requirements

• OSHA 10, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
• Ability to work at heights on ladders, lifts, and rooftops, and lift up to 50 lbs
• Must pass a background check and drug test

Schedule

• Monday to Friday, day shift
• Overtime and occasional weekends as projects require
• Occasional overnight travel
