What You Will Be Doing:
As a Field Service Technician in our IPS PowerServe division, you will perform testing and maintenance on low, medium, and high voltage power distribution equipment for our commercial and industrial clients.
We are NETA accredited, performing testing under NETA standards to ensure reliability, safety, and efficiency.
- Testing and Calibrations: Instrument Transformer, Power Transformer testing (Doble, Insulation Resistance, Transformer Turns Ratio), Cable testing (Power Factor, Tan Delta, VLF, Hipot), Circuit breaker & Switchgear testing, Primary & Secondary Injection Testing, Protective Relay testing, Continuity, Ground Fault, Power Quality.
- Troubleshooting and Data Collection: Inspect and start-up switchgear, circuit breakers, cables, transformers, protective relays, VFDs, ATS.
- Service & Repair: Conduct inspections, diagnose issues, replace parts, make recommendations, recommission equipment.
- Safety: Follow all safety protocols including LOTO.
- Teamwork: Assist teammates to achieve mutual goals.
- Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers about issues and resolutions.
- Documentation: Complete reports on work performed.
Don't worry if you don't have all skills yet; we offer comprehensive training and certifications. However, the following qualifications are necessary:
What You Will Need:
- Some testing experience with low and medium voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, or protective relays.
- NETA Certification (II, III) preferred or equivalent skills.
- Journeyman electrician experience is a plus.
- Power DB experience is a plus.
- At least 3 years of driving experience with a valid license and acceptable record.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to read schematics, manuals, and safety guidelines.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, overtime, weekends, and be on call.
