Job summary

Dukane Ias Llc is seeking a field service engineer to set up, repair and support plastic joining equipment at customer facilities. You will provide basic programming support, technical maintenance, and training while traveling to customer sites and to the Dukane US Headquarters for training as needed.

You will engage with clients, discuss Dukane’s advantages, and tailor solutions to customer requirements. Strong communication and the ability to travel within the territory are essential.

Qualifications

• Two or more years experience with ultrasonics, vibration welding, and/or plastics technology.
• Two or more years of maintenance or tool room experience required.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills preferred.
• Ability to work independently and travel within assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Be present at customers location during installation, startup and production as needed.
• Provide basic programming support for customers with assistance from Dukane engineering.
• Provide technical support for existing equipment and maintenance at customer sites.
• Sell to, call on, and support clients by phone and on-site visits; recommend spare components.
• Understand features/benefits relative to competitors and discuss with customers during service visits.
• Demonstrate systems at Dukane or customer locations as needed.
• Set up applications on new and existing systems, troubleshoot issues, and propose solutions.
• Prepare activity and expense reports weekly and other requested reports.
• Plan, organize and conduct customer technical training; travel to training events.

GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE: Setup, repair and support plastic joining equipment and tooling at customer’s facility. Will support the Corporate Quality Policy and make continuous improvements in work processes.POSITION FUNCTIONS: Listed below are typical functions performed in this position. This description should not be construed to contain every function/responsibility that may be required to be performed by the individual in this position as he or she is required to perform other related functions as assigned.PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:Be present at customers location during installation, startup and production as needed.Provide basic programming support for customers with assistance from Dukane engineering without the need for onsite support from Dukane US after 12 months of training and experience at Dukane.Provide technical support for existing Dukane equipment and be willing to provide maintenance and process support for end users.Sell to, call on, and support existing and prospective clients by telephoning and visiting their facilities when needed and recommend spare components.Understand Dukane’s features/benefits relative to competitors and have ability to discuss and share with customers during service visits.Demonstrate systems at Dukane or customer locations as needed.Be the liaison between client and Dukane, identify, clarify and convey client’s requirements to proper team members within Dukane.Set up applications on new and existing systems, troubleshoot issues, rectify and recommend solutions.Prepare activity and expense reports weekly, as well as other reports as requested.Plan, organize and conduct/assist with customer technical training.Follow up with customers when sales team members are absent.Travel to Dukane US Headquarters for training and/or customer runoffs that justify being present at such events.PHYSICAL AND VISUAL ACTIVITIES:Traveling/driving (frequently, car/minivan less than 40,000 miles per year and other modes of travel such as air travel). Lifting and moving, with assistance (occasionally, system components weighing less than 100 pounds). Talking (frequently), hearing (frequently), writing (frequently), walking (frequently), standing (frequently).EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma, or equivalent, required. College-level course work in mechanical/electrical engineering and/or plastics technology a plus. Working knowledge of manufacturing practices and processes a plus.EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Two or more years experience with ultrasonics, vibration welding, and/or plastics technology desired. Two or more years of maintenance or tool room experience required. Excellent communication and presentation skills preferred. Ability to work independently and to travel within assigned territory a must. PLC programming experience highly desired with ability to install and modify programs at customer facilities.
