Job summary

RONDO is hiring a Field Service Technician in Chicago, IL. You will troubleshoot, install, and maintain dough machinery at customer sites, diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, and provide hands-on support to clients.

You’ll travel to customer locations, perform start-ups, and deliver operator training while promoting preventive maintenance and parts solutions. A company vehicle is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting industrial, manufacturing, packaging, automation, or food-processing equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, motors, sensors, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain RONDO equipment at customer locations.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control system issues.
• Provide technical support to customers by phone, email, and on-site visits.
• Perform equipment commissioning and operator training.
• Promote preventive maintenance programs and spare parts solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain RONDO equipment at customer locations.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control system issues.
• Provide technical support to customers by phone, email, and on-site visits.
• Perform equipment commissioning, start‑ups, and operator training.
• Promote preventive maintenance programs and recommended spare parts solutions.
• Complete service reports and documentation accurately and professionally.
• Support customers with exceptional service to ensure maximum equipment performance.
• Travel throughout assigned territories and occasionally throughout the United States.
• Collaborate with Parts, Technical Support, and Sales teams to deliver outstanding customer experiences.
• *Company vehicle provided.

What We’re Looking For:

• Experience troubleshooting industrial, manufacturing, packaging, automation, or food-processing equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls, motors, sensors, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Mechanical aptitude and experience repairing industrial equipment.
• Previous field service, maintenance, military technical, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage service schedules effectively.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
• Spanish speaking skills are a plus for the Miami territory.
• Trade school, technical school, military training, or equivalent hands‑on experience highly valued.

• Mechanical, electrical, avionics, maintenance, engineering, and technical military backgrounds are highly transferable to this role.

Functions and Tasks:

• Electrical troubleshooting and repair of all RONDO equipment.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair of all RONDO equipment.
• Provide technical service and support in accordance with company standards and procedures.
• Promote Preventive Maintenance Contracts.
• Recommend and sell appropriate spare parts solutions.
• Install and commission all equipment sold by RONDO.
• Conduct equipment demonstrations and customer training.
• Complete required service reports and paperwork before leaving customer sites.
• Provide technical support via phone and email.
• Assist with parts processing and other technical support activities as needed.
