Qualifications

  • 3+ years of relevant technical experience (millwright, maintenance, engineering, field service) or equivalent.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle background check; the role includes an assigned vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support during repair or installation of IR equipment at customer sites.
  • Ensure safe work practices, report safety incidents, and maintain a zero‑lost-time record.
  • Improve customer responsiveness by making sales calls, performing technical walk‑downs, and offering value‑adding solutions.
  • Complete service reports, customer call reports, expense reports, and time sheets accurately and on time.
  • Suggest process improvements to enhance customer response time and data accuracy.
  • Comply with departmental guidelines and procedures to maintain service standards.
  • Maintain proficiency with vibration analysis and laser alignment equipment.
  • Generate sales leads, update the CRM system, and support global visibility of IR aftermarket.

Job Overview

The Field Service Technician provides field technical support for IR products, delivering customer‑focused, timely service and contributing to the 24/7 technical service needs of customers.   • Experience specifying replacement parts for engineered equipment.
  • Industrial sales or technical selling experience.
  • Troubleshooting vibration, system, and aerodynamic problems.
Physical Requirements
  • Heavy lifting: lift 50‑75 lbs regularly.
  • Prolonged standing: 8‑12 hours daily.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and stooping.
  • Climbing: ladders, scaffolding, stairs with fall protection.
  • Manual dexterity for small tools.
  • Awkward positions in tight, cramped spaces.
  • Overhead reaching for extended periods.
  • Vision: close, color, and depth perception.
  • Weather exposure: extreme heat, cold, or rain.
  • Driving endurance: long‑hour service vehicle operation.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
  • Remote position; must be based near a major airport in Indiana, Ohio, Wisconsin, Illinois, or Kentucky.
  • Up to 80% travel, including possible international travel.
Pay Range

$65,000k – $85,000k annually, based on skills, experience, certifications, licensure, and location.
