Job summary

Fives Landis Corp. in Maryland is seeking a Field Service Technician to set up, test, and service equipment at client sites. This role supports hybrid work arrangements and travel up to 75% to engage with customers and ensure system reliability.

You will diagnose issues, perform emergency repairs, and provide clear service reports while collaborating with the Service & Installation Manager. A high school diploma and 2 years of field service experience are required, with grinding and CNC

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2 years field service experience.
• Knowledge of precision cylindrical grinding.
• Understanding of CNC machines with servo drives & motors.
• Experience with PLCs: Allen Bradley, Fanuc, Siemens.

Responsibilities

• Set up, integrate, and test equipment at client locations to ensure functionality.
• Demonstrate equipment performance and confirm operation and satisfaction.
• Provide rapid support for critical equipment failures to minimize downtime.
• Perform emergency repairs and diagnose issues with timely solutions.
• Educate clients on operation and maximize efficiency.
• Communicate with customers and internal teams for timely updates.
• Serve as primary technical liaison and manage customer interactions.
• Submit detailed service reports with parts, time, and actions.

Location Flexiblity: Candates do not need to be based at our Hagerstown, Maryland headquarters. We encourage applicants from Ohio to apply.

Pay Range: $28 - $38 per hour (rate offered will be commensurate with experience)

• Set up, integrate, and thoroughly test equipment and systems at client locations to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
• Demonstrate equipment performance and capabilities to customers, confirming proper operation and satisfaction with system standards.
• Provide rapid support for critical equipment failures to minimize downtime.
• Perform emergency repairs by diagnosing technical issues and implementing effective and timely solutions.
• Educate and assist clients on proper equipment operation, maximizing efficiency and user confidence.
• Communicate clearly and proactively with customers and internal teams to provide timely service updates and maintain alignment.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison, managing customer interactions and ensuring prompt and accurate resolution of issues.
• Submit detailed service reports, including parts used, time spent, and corrective actions taken.

We are seeking someone who has a minimum of a High School diploma or GED. 2 years of field service experience and knowledge of precision cylindrical grinding. Centerless and double disc grinding knowledge is a plus. An understanding of CNC machines with servo drives & motors. And have programable Logic Controls such as Allen Bradley, Fanuc, Siemens, etc. If you are a self-starter, who is flexible and eager to travel 75% to engage with customers and is committed to an innovative work environment, then we are eager to change the world with you!
