Overview
A world-leading OEM of CNC machinery, machining centers, and automation systems, and a leading manufacturer of laser cutting and turning equipment, is growing its nationwide field service team. The Field Service Technician will travel extensively to customer sites to commission, integrate, and troubleshoot equipment, serving as a key direct-hire member of the field service organization.
What you'll do
- Support sales staff in servicing company equipment
- Install new equipment at customer sites
- Provide solutions for equipment service at customer locations
- Carefully and accurately document all service performed and future service needs
- Maintain excellent customer service and customer satisfaction
- Demonstrate applicable company software capabilities to customers
- Prepare timesheets, service reports, and installation forms in a timely and accurate manner
- Accurately track expenses and complete expense reports in a timely manner
- Maintain a safe work environment and operate within OSHA/MIOSHA guidelines
- Communicate with other departments as necessary
- Work overtime as required by workload and customer necessity
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Required qualifications
- Must live within 50 miles of a major airport
- Able to travel 90-100%
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Able to effectively use the Internet
- Ability to understand and use I/O structure for technical troubleshooting purposes
- Ability to effectively utilize electric/electronic test and measurement equipment
- Ability to understand, analyze, and resolve technical mechanical or electrical issues based on measured data results
- Proficient in reading and comprehending technical information in equipment manuals or electronic media
- Ability to accurately document technical data and resolution steps
- Ability to communicate technical issues and resolution steps with the corporate office
- Proven customer service skills with a focus on customer relationships
- Highly organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Resourceful, with the ability to discern who to contact for assistance based on the situation
- Excellent time management skills
- Effective team player able to work with all levels of team members and customers
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
