Job summary

Linde Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician in Monroe, MI to ensure safe, reliable operation of nitrogen-producing plants at customer sites. You will troubleshoot field issues and perform routine maintenance on compressors, gas analyzers, and control systems, coordinating contractors to support plant activities.

The role requires a technical background, strong safety focus, and the ability to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma; Associate degree preferred; 2–5 years of operations experience in air separation or similar environments.
  • Expertise in instrumentation, controls, and general maintenance of industrial equipment.
  • Proficient in mechanical and electrical maintenance, including compressors; military engineering experience a plus.
  • Strong safety awareness and adherence to procedures while troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
  • Understanding of process control schematics; able to communicate technical information clearly.
  • Proficient with computers, Microsoft applications, and process control systems; good organization and time management.
  • Must meet physical requirements (confined spaces, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, working at heights).
  • Available for extended hours; flexibility for weekends, holidays, and call-in coverage.
  • Familiar with procurement processes and quality control analyzers; adaptable to dynamic work conditions including driving service trucks.

What makes you great
  • You will hold a High School Diploma, with an Associate Degree in a technical field preferred, along with two to five years of operations experience in air separation or similar process control environments
  • Have expertise in instrumentation, controls, and general maintenance of industrial equipment
  • Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical and electrical maintenance, including compressors, with military engineering experience highly regarded
  • Exhibit strong safety awareness and procedural adherence while troubleshooting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing equipment
