About This Role

Power Engineering Services, a Quanta Services Company, is looking for Field Service Technicians to join our team in Converse, TX (San Antonio Area).

As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing basic component testing, troubleshooting failed or questionable test results, and utilizing manuals for information before consulting senior technicians.

What You'll Do

• Perform responsibilities to the highest standards, ensuring all standards and expectations are met.
• Communicate effectively to receive all necessary information for projects.
• Support technicians on projects and tasks as needed.
• Arrive punctually at job sites as designated.
• Ensure test equipment is operational and available.
• Report arrivals and departures to senior technicians and complete documentation daily.
• Perform tasks in accordance with company and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate activity records and provide updates.
• Manage test equipment checkout and accountability.
• Identify issues requiring training or attention.
• Follow safety policies diligently and promote a safety culture.
• Provide feedback on safety issues.
• Mentor team members to improve skills and performance.
• Stay updated on industry trends.
• Assist with testing of equipment such as low voltage, medium voltage, transformers, motor control centers, VFD/Soft Starts, UPS, and MV cables.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field (preferred).
• High school diploma or GED (required); advanced technology degree (preferred).
• Knowledge of NETA standards (certification preferred).
• Field experience or a combination of work and education.
• Motivation and drive to complete projects.
• Knowledge of substation protection zones and relay functions.
• Ability to read control circuitry, wiring diagrams, and equipment drawings.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
