Job summary

Bobcat of the Rockies – Cheyenne, WY is seeking a Field Service Technician to perform in-field diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on Bobcat equipment. This role emphasizes field work over the shop, with a competitive hourly wage and a day shift schedule.

The position offers a guaranteed hourly wage of $25–$40, negotiable by experience, and includes paid time off after 60 days, with opportunities for advancement within a stable, family-friendly company.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years working as equipment technician.
• Able to work independently in a field environment.
• Contribution to teamwork with parts personnel and other service technicians.
• Technical school certificate or equivalent preferred; HS diploma or GED required.
• Prior field service experience preferred.
• Must pass a drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections to determine the cause of failure following guidelines and identify root cause.
• Repair machine components in the field with high quality.
• Recondition and repair equipment and components.
• Plan methods and sequence of repairs assigned.
• Pre-order parts and materials needed for repairs.
• Perform repairs safely and effectively.
• Ensure repairs and cosmetic finish meet standards.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Keep detailed records of time, parts, and purchases.
• Ensure records are legible and compliant with procedures.
• Report daily field activity and maintain records even when not returning to shop.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Wear PPE and promote safety among peers.
• Communicate with customers and co-workers respectfully.

Monday-Friday work week/ Day Shift

Guaranteed Hourly Wage Position - No More Flat Rate! $25-40/hour, negotiable based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections required to determine cause of failure is done following established guidelines and are completed with the cause identified.
• Responsible for the effective repair of machine components in the field, at high levels of quality.
• Recondition and repair equipment and components.
• Plan methods and sequence of performing repairs assigned.
• Pre-order all parts and materials required to perform assigned repairs.
• Perform the repairs in a safe and effective manner.
• Ensure all repairs are completed as assigned and the cosmetic appearance are up to standards.
• Maintain the work area in a clean and safe condition.
• Maintain good working records for time, parts, supplies, and outside purchases in repairs.
• Ensure all records are legible and in compliance with established methods.
• Report all record keeping daily from the field, even when not returning daily to the company.
• Maintain shop tools, equipment and vehicles.
• Maintain personal appearance in a professional and neat condition. Wear all personal protective equipment, as required; and urges others to do so.
• All communications with customers and co-workers are conducted in a manner reflecting respect and integrity.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years working as equipment technician.
• Be able to work independently of direct supervision in a field environment.
• Contribution to spirit of teamwork and cooperation through the branch location, specifically with parts personnel and other service technicians.
• A technical school certificate or equivalent experience in mechanical repairs is preferred. High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
• Prior experience as a field service technician preferred.
• Must be able to pass a drug screen.

Physical Requirements

• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate construction equipment.
• Occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 50-100 pounds and/or frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 20-50 pounds and/or continuous lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling 10-20 pounds
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, grasp or pull and lift objects. Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance, kneel, stoop, crouch, and crawl
• Consistently exposed to outside weather conditions, fumes, and loud noise.
