Job summary

New Flyer is seeking a Mobile Technician to perform on-site troubleshooting, retrofits, and repairs across locations, while maintaining required reports and logistics. Travel to various sites within the region and collaborate with the Regional Product Support Manager.

You will provide OEM-level support, stay current with vehicle systems, and communicate effectively with customers and teams. A strong technical background, PLC familiarity, and diagnostic software experience are essential.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical or Technical Trade School background required.
  • Minimum 5 years as a Certified Technician or equivalent.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Proficiency with MS Office.
  • Experience with diagnostic software such as Cummins Insite, DDDL, Allison DOC, and Wabco Toolbox.
  • HV experience highly desired.
  • Must be certified per state/provincial requirements.
  • Laptop interfaces and standard hand tools are required.
  • Physically able to walk, stand, sit, lift and bend.

Responsibilities

  • On-Site Technical and Mechanic support at any location for Customer and MCI/NF support
  • Assemble, organize, and maintain all company reports as required
  • Communicate openly and professionally with internal, external customers, management, and co- workers
  • Investigate, identify, and report product issues, including with supplier components
  • Recommend course of action to solve problems with respective departments
  • Assist with controlled testing of components and installations as asked by Management, TSS or Engineering groups
  • Stay up to date with training on pertinent systems in our vehicle to perform top level OEM support of any coach or vendor components
  • Identify and provide suggestions on how to improve the information in technical bulletins, Maintenance, and any other Tech publications
  • Resolve customer problems or complaints effectively and in a timely manner for mutual customer and our company's benefit
  • Work special assignments as required
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Summary

Perform duties of an on-site Mobile Technician with primary duties to Troubleshoot and Repair equipment, complete Retrofits and Campaigns and keep up with all required computer reports and logistics of the job. Goal is customer satisfaction while maintaining a mutually beneficial company objective. Position requires travel to various locations to perform work. Position will work under the guidance of the Regional Product Support Manager within the assigned territory.
