Job summary

The Timken Company in Colorado is seeking a Field Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and inspect overhead cranes and hoists. You will perform scheduled maintenance, diagnose issues, and communicate with customers and internal teams to ensure safe, reliable operation.

This full-time role requires a valid driver’s license, the ability to travel overnight, and the willingness to work outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 21+ and hold a valid driver's license with clean record.
• DOT medical certification required.
• Ability to travel overnight out of state.
• Willing to work indoors/outdoors in extreme conditions.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and inspect overhead cranes and hoists.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections.
• Identify issues and recommend repairs.
• Communicate with customers and internal teams on repairs.
• Document service actions with forms and checklists.
• Follow safety protocols and wear PPE.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Pay Range: $30.00/hr-$42.00/hr (commensurate with experience and education)

Essential Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and inspect overhead cranes and hoists
• Perform scheduled maintenance and inspections
• Identify issues and recommend repair solutions
• Communicate with customers and internal team on repairs and safety concerns
• Complete work efficiently and keep customers informed
• Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports and checklists
• Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as required

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Minimum age 21
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required
• Basic mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
• Must meet DOT driver requirements and maintain valid DOT medical certification
• Willing to travel overnight in and out of state
• Must pass background check and drug/alcohol screening
• Able to work indoors/outdoors in extreme heat/cold and at heights for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with similar equipment in manufacturing
• Advanced electrical/troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of NEC, CMAA, OSHA, and ASME
• Journeyman or Master electrician license
• Experience mentoring junior technicians or trainees
