PTS Advance is looking for an Electrical Field Service Technician to join an outstanding NETA accredited service provider. In this role the Electrical Field Service Technician will perform testing and maintenance on low, medium, and high voltage power distribution equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
Testing & Calibration:
- Perform testing and calibration on instrument transformers and power transformers, including Doble testing, insulation resistance, and Transformer Turns Ratio (TTR).
- Conduct cable testing utilizing Power Factor, Tan Delta, VLF, and Hipot methods.
- Test low, medium, and high-voltage circuit breakers and switchgear.
- Perform primary and secondary injection testing on electrical systems.
- Execute protective relay testing on both electro-mechanical and solid-state devices.
- Carry out continuity and ground fault testing.
- Assess power quality through specialized diagnostic tools.
Troubleshooting & Inspections:
- Troubleshoot, inspect, and perform start-ups on switchgear, circuit breakers, cables, transformers, protective relays, VFDs, and automatic transfer switches (ATS).
- Collect and analyze operational data to ensure proper system functionality.
Service & Repair:
- Perform system inspections, diagnose faults, recommend solutions, replace components, and recommission equipment to operational standards.
Safety Compliance:
- Strictly follow all safety procedures and protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety guidelines.
Team Collaboration:
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment by actively supporting teammates and contributing to shared objectives.
Customer Communication:
- Clearly explain technical issues, testing results, and recommended corrective actions to customers in an understandable and professional manner.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Accurately complete and submit detailed service reports, testing documentation, and commissioning records for each assignment.
Job Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited technical college, or similar experience/training from the military preferred.
- Experience testing low and medium voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, and protective relays.
- NETA II or above certification
- Experience using Power DB preferred
- Valid Drivers License
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and operating manuals
- Ability to work flexible hours, overtime and weekends as required.

Compensation:
- Up to $70/hr pending experience and NETA certification level
