Job summary

Vaco by Highspring, a leading manufacturer and integrator of industrial labeling equipment, seeks a Field Service Technician to support customers across the Upper Midwest. You will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment while delivering exceptional service and training end users.

The ideal candidate brings 2–3 years of electro‑mechanical troubleshooting experience, is comfortable traveling up to 60% of the time, and can work independently while managing priorities.

  • 2–3 years electro‑mechanical troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience in field service with extensive travel.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to train customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license; able to travel extensively.

As the business continues to grow and expand its customer base, our client is seeking a Field Service Technician to support customers throughout the Upper Midwest region.

This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanically inclined, customer-focused professional who enjoys problem-solving, working independently, and traveling to customer sites. The Field Service Technician will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment while delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will bring strong electro‑mechanical troubleshooting experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to train end users on equipment operation and maintenance.

Location: Remote (need to Sit in the Greater Green Bay area)

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electro‑mechanical machinery.
  • Experience working in a field service environment with significant travel requirements.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including:
    • Outlook
    • Word
    • Excel
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to train customers and end users on equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting packaging, labeling, coding, or industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) experience.
  • Familiarity with PLC and PC‑based control systems.
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly Syteline.
  • PMMI certification or willingness to obtain certification (company‑sponsored).
  • Technical certifications, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with flexible packaging or related machinery.
Travel Requirements
  • Approximately 60% travel throughout the Upper Midwest territory.
  • Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of an airport.
  • Travel is typically Monday through Friday, with occasional extended travel depending on business needs.
  • All travel expenses are covered, including airfare, rental vehicles, and approved business expenses.
  • Company‑issued mobile phone provided.
  • Travel time is compensated.
