Job summary

VFP, Inc. seeks a field service technician to travel to customer sites and perform installations and repairs per requests and warranties. The role requires the ability to work with little supervision and manage hands-on tasks on-site.

Ideal candidates will interpret engineering drawings and electrical/control prints, with experience in electrical work, HVAC, framing/finishing, and the ability to travel weekly, sometimes up to three weeks at a time. Local relocation is not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or Equivalent (GED).
• Knowledge of electrical work, HVAC.
• Knowledge of framing/finishing.
• Coordination under varying conditions and constraints.
• Knowledge of wiring standards and NEC.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues in varied situations.
• Excellent communication to present information to customers.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal, written or diagram instructions.

Responsibilities

• Travel weekly and be gone up to three weeks at a time.
• Interpret engineering drawings, electrical control prints, and schematics.
• Work with electrical and carpentry tasks as needed.
• Hook up power and controls per prints/schematics.
• Familiarity with framing construction standards.
• Operate power equipment to complete tasks.
• Install electrical equipment and grounding systems.
• Hang or repair doors, install hardware and paint as needed.
• Complete framing, sheathing, trim, and tile work as required.
• Perform minor concrete repairs and coatings.
• Other duties as assigned by manager to meet customer needs.
