Job summary

BorgWarner is hiring a Field Service Technician to service and commission customer equipment in Western North Carolina and beyond. Expect frequent travel to customer sites, diagnosing and repairing high-power systems with high emphasis on safety and accuracy.

The role requires hands-on electrical/mechanical skills, ability to read schematics, and strong communication to support customers and internal teams across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Five years of hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing equipment.
• Technical training or an Associate Degree with 4+ years in servicing engines or power systems.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, maintain and commission customer equipment including high voltages.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and peers; perform admin duties.
• Order and manage repair parts and calibrate tools/instrumentation.
• Keep service logs and internal records up to date.
• Meet area metrics and follow escalation processes for issues.
• Travel to customer sites; use scopes, meters and diagnostics as required.
