Qualifications

Field Service Tech II

Location: US-TX-Dallas

Overview

Position Summary: The Field Service Technician II position involves a higher level of responsibility in performing and assisting with major component exchanges for wind turbines. You will work more independently than a Technician I, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining wind turbine systems. This role requires a solid understanding of wind turbine operations and mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as a proactive approach to safety.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and assist in major component exchanges including gearboxes, generators, and nacelle components.
  • Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics on turbine systems.
  • Perform detailed inspections and preventative maintenance on wind turbines.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
  • Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the company's Zero Injury principles
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing wind turbine systems
  • Strong teamwork, leadership, and communication skills
  • Required to travel to different jobsites on a limited notice
  • Proven ability to work in a safety-first environment with proactive safety behaviors.
Working Environment
  • Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and extreme heat
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually loud
