Belcan is seeking a Field Service Representative Analyst in Norfolk, VA to monitor distributed systems and respond to incidents. You will contribute to core platforms, develop applications, and work with cloud and on‑premise environments.

The role requires security clearance, travel readiness, and strong collaboration across technical teams. Ideal candidates have a solid engineering background, familiarity with data storage technologies, and experience with Java, Groovy, and Python.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background in CS/Math/Software/Physics is preferred.
• Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools.
• Understanding of how technical decisions impact the user.
• Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Must hold U.S. citizenship for contract requirements.
• Maintains TS security clearance within the past five years.

Responsibilities

• Monitor distributed computing stacks and respond to alerts.
• Support core company platform and build custom applications on top of it.
• Work with Oracle, Postgres, Cassandra, Hadoop, and Spark for storage and processing.
• Develop back-end with Java/Groovy and data integration tools.
• Use Python for data processing and analysis.
• Manage cloud infra (AWS or Azure) and on‑premise Linux.
• Collaborate with engineering and Network Operations Center.

What You\'ll Get to Do:

• Monitor distributed computing stacks and rapidly respond to alerts that occur.
• Our core company platform provides the foundation for our projects.
• Custom applications built on top of our core company platform.
• Oracle, Postgres, Cassandra, Hadoop, and Spark for distributed data storage and parallel computing.
• Java and Groovy for our back-end applications and data integration tools.
• Python for data processing and analysis.
• Commercial standard cloud infrastructures such as AWS or Azure.
• CentOS/Red Hat Linux as the basis for all our on premise servers.

Requirements:

• Experience with Gotham
• Experience with Gaia
• Ability to deploy for one 3-6 month rotation per year
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues onsite and communicate with engineering team and Network Operations Center

Qualifications:

• Strong engineering background, preferred in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics.
• Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools.
• Understanding of how technical decisions impact the user of what youre building.
• Ability to work effectively in teams of technical and non-technical individuals.
• Skill and comfort working in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic objectives and iteration with users.
• Demonstrated ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
• Willingness and interest to travel as needed.
• (As required by U.S. Government contract) U.S. citizenship
• Current possession and ongoing maintenance of TS security clearance that has been adjudicated within the past five years.

This position is offering a salary range of $110,000 to $120,000 depending on experience, seniority, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law.
