Job summary

QED Systems, LLC is seeking a Field Service Representative (Technician) to support our PM PNT program at Fort Hood, TX. The role involves field support, troubleshooting, software updates, and mentoring Soldiers in maintenance.

The position requires an active Secret clearance, a strong technical background in electronic systems, and substantial travel. A two‑year technical degree or AA/AS is required, with military electronics testing experience highly valued.

• Detail-oriented with excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Six (6) years of total experience testing electronic equipment, including four (4) years testing/troubleshooting electronic subsystem installations in military systems.

Field Service Representative (Technician)

QED Systems, LLC, is currently recruiting a Field Service Representative (Technician) to join our team at Fort Hood, TX to support our customer, Project Manager Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PM PNT).

Duties

• Provides field support services related to troubleshooting and repair of systems, performs software updates, and mentors Soldiers in the execution of maintenance.
• Facilitates higher level repair of equipment.
• Ensures support equipment is regularly calibrated and maintained.
• Troubleshoots and repairs systems, perform software updates.
• Install, modify, wire, fabricate and maintain systems.
• Distinguish between hardware and software problems in multi-vendor systems.

Required Skills & Experience

• Detail-oriented with excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills.

Required Clearance

• ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Secret

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree or two-year technical school required. Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology, preferred.
• Six (6) years of total experience with the testing of electronic equipment, to include four (4) years of experience in the testing and troubleshooting of electronic subsystem installations in military systems.
• Two (2) additional years of experience can be substituted for degree requirement.

Travel

Not less than 33 % travel is expected for this position. Travel may include continental United States and outside continental United States locations.

Work Environment

This position will be performed in a variety of locations, including but not limited to, government offices, military bases and depots, warehouse/maintenance shops, and/or field environments that include extended periods outdoors.

Physical Demands

Physical demands of this position include ability to:

• Be independently mobile.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and customers.
• Withstand prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and computer use.
• Climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands.
• Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as glasses/goggles (eyes), ear plugs/muffs (hearing), hard hats, and breathing respirators/masks.
• Operate powered vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, forklift, etc.
• Lift/push/pull objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds.
• Withstand exposure to noise from operating equipment.

Estimated Salary Range

$70,000.00 - $80,000.00, annually. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. This represents the typical range for fully qualified candidates for this position based on experience, geographic location, and other factors. The final offer amount may vary.
