Job summary

Ciena Corporation is seeking a Junior Field Service Project Manager to support the successful delivery of field service projects in the CGSI team. You will assist with planning, execution, and closeout while ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to project objectives.

Working alongside Senior Project Managers, you will coordinate resources, manage schedules, and maintain detailed plans to achieve milestones.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen.
• Technical degree or Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
• Ability to adjust work schedules to meet project demands, including after-hours calls involving overseas projects.
• Ability to travel to customer locations for key project-related meetings.

Responsibilities

• Collect all relevant project information required to scope and budget project deliverables.
• Coordinate all required project resources and provide support to manage those resources throughout project execution.
• Coordinate project deliverables to ensure timely customer delivery.
• Build and manage detailed project plans from project initiation through completion.
• Coordinate closely with Engineering, Deployment Coordinators, partners, and customers to execute project tasks and achieve milestones.
• Maintain project schedules, track deviations, and implement timely corrective actions when necessary.
• Communicate project status, risks, issues, and resolutions to stakeholders and management.
• Facilitate cross-functional communication among internal teams, external suppliers, and customers.
• Support process improvement initiatives related to project management practices.
• Manage multiple projects within the CGSI customer base as assigned.
