Job summary

Ciena Corporation is hiring a Junior Field Service Project Manager to support the CGSI team in delivering field service projects. You will assist with planning, execution, and closeout, working alongside senior managers to ensure customer satisfaction and project objectives are met.

Requirements include US citizenship, a related bachelor's degree (or equivalent), and proficiency with Microsoft Office. Some travel to customer sites and after-hours meetings may be required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist Senior Project Managers with EF&I project financials, schedules, scope, and quality management.
• Build and manage detailed project plans from initiation through completion.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Deployment Coordinators, partners, and customers to execute tasks.
• Communicate project status, risks, issues, and resolutions to stakeholders.
• Support process improvement in project management practices.
• Manage multiple projects within CGSI customer base.

This role involves assisting with project planning, execution, and closeout activities while ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to project objectives.The primary responsibility of the Junior Field Service Project Manager is to work alongside senior Service Project Managers and assist with all aspects of project management.### Key Responsibilities* Collect all relevant project information required to scope and budget project deliverables.* Coordinate all required project resources and provide support to manage those resources throughout project execution.* Coordinate project deliverables to ensure timely customer delivery.## Primary Duties* Assist Senior Project Managers with Engineering, Furnish, and Install (EF&I) project financials, schedules, scope, and quality management.* Validate that the Project Sales Order and Statement of Work (SOW) are aligned.* Build and manage detailed project plans from project initiation through completion.* Coordinate closely with Engineering, Deployment Coordinators, partners, and customers to execute project tasks and achieve milestones.* Maintain project schedules, track deviations, and implement timely corrective actions when necessary.* Communicate project status, risks, issues, and resolutions to stakeholders and management.* Facilitate cross-functional communication among internal teams, external suppliers, and customers.* Support process improvement initiatives related to project management practices.* Manage multiple projects within the CGSI customer base as assigned.## Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)* U.S. Citizen.* Technical degree or Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university.* Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).* Ability to adjust work schedules to meet project demands, including support for after-hours calls involving overseas projects.* Ability to travel to customer locations for key project-related meetings.## Preferred Qualifications* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.## Skills & Competencies* Strong organizational and time management skills.* Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities.* Ability to work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.* Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business.
