Job summary

REMEDI8 is seeking a Field Service Technician for firestopping, doors and dampers in Houston. This field‑based, full‑time role requires inspecting, repairing, and maintaining life safety systems in healthcare and commercial facilities, while traveling to customer sites as needed.

You will read Life Safety Plans, work with hand and power tools, document results, and communicate professionally with clients. The company covers medical premiums and offers PTO, 401(k) matching, and travel perks.

Qualifications

• Experience in firestopping, fire doors, dampers, or life safety systems.
• Ability to read Life Safety Plans (LSPs) and work independently in facilities.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
• High attention to detail and accurate documentation habits.
• Willingness to travel locally up to 100% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair firestopping systems per NFPA, IBC, and UL standards
• Inspect fire‑rated doors and fire dampers per NFPA requirements
• Perform minor repairs to doors, frames, hardware, and wall assemblies
• Read and interpret Life Safety Plans and construction drawings
• Document inspection results and repairs using tablet‑based reporting
• Maintain tools, equipment, and clean, safe job sites
• Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams
• Support multiple service lines and travel between job sites
