Job summary

GROB-WERKE GmbH & Co. KG in Michigan is seeking a Field Service Mechanical Technician to support installations and service calls at customer sites. You will travel on short notice to perform mechanical build and start-up of CNC machines to GROB specifications.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with metric prints, and the ability to read hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical drawings. NC programming experience and prior CNC or machine-building work are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma minimum.
• Understanding of drawings, schematics and troubleshooting.
• NC programming experience preferred.
• Previous CNC machining or machine building experience preferred.
• Previous experience with assembly equipment and robotic cells preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond quickly to customer installations or problems on short notice.
• Assemble and start-up new CNC machines to GROB specifications.
• Assemble and start-up assembly equipment.
• Utilize precision measuring instruments (such as calipers, levels, indicators, micrometers, etc.).
• Read and follow mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical prints/drawings.
• Read and follow tool layouts and NC code (G-code, M-functions).
• Respond to emergency calls from customers in a timely manner.

Field Service Mechanical Technician (Michigan)

This position is responsible for supporting installations and service calls exclusively at GROB’s customer sites. This individual will need to be available to travel on short notice to wherever GROB designates them to travel to. While at the customer sites, this individual will be responsible for the mechanical build and start-up of machine tool equipment. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, an in-depth knowledge of metric prints, and an understanding of assembly technology and/or metal cutting principles. This role will primarly support the Michigan territory.

• Must respond quickly to customer installations or problems on short notice
• Assemble and start-up new CNC machines to GROB specifications
• Assemble and start-up assembly equipment
