Job summary

GROB-WERKE GmbH & Co. KG seeks a Field Service Mechanical Technician to support installations and service calls at customer sites across South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia.

Travel on short notice is required and candidates should reside within this territory. You will assemble and start-up CNC machines, read mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical prints, and use precision measuring tools to ensure accuracy at each site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong ability to read mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical prints.
• NC programming experience preferred; prior CNC/machine-building experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and start-up CNC machines to GROB specifications.
• Assemble and start-up assembly equipment at customer sites.
• Use precision measuring instruments to verify builds (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Read and follow mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical prints/drawings.
• Read and follow tool layouts and NC code (G-code, M-functions).
• Respond to customer emergencies and service calls on short notice.

This position is responsible for supporting installations and service calls exclusively at GROB's customer sites. This individual will need to be available to travel on short notice to wherever GROB designates them to travel to. While at the customer sites, this individual will be responsible for the mechanical build and start-up of machine tool equipment. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, an in-depth knowledge of metric prints, and an understanding of assembly technology and/or metal cutting principles. This role will support the regions of South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia. Applicants should reside within this territory.

• Must respond quickly to customer installations or problems on short notice
• Assemble and start-up new CNC machines to GROB specifications
• Assemble and start-up assembly equipment
• Utilize precision measuring instruments (such as calipers, levels, indicators, micrometers, etc.)
• Read and follow mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical prints/drawings
• Read and follow tool layouts and NC code (G-code, M-functions)
• Respond to emergency calls from customers in a timely manner

Education & Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma minimum
• Understanding of drawings, schematics and troubleshooting
• NC programming experience preferred
• Previous CNC machining or machine building experience preferred
• Previous experience with assembly equipment and robotic cells preferred

General Requirements:

• Ability to travel as required for business needs
• Self-motivated; able to work alone or in a team environment
• Full understanding of the metric system
• Willing to work overtime as needed
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport
