Job summary

Herc Rentals in Texas is seeking a Field Service Mechanic A to lead equipment maintenance on customer job sites. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair heavy equipment, and ensure fleet readiness at all times.

This role requires hands-on skills, the ability to work independently, and strong safety discipline. A high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are required, with competitive hourly pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate and test equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, generators, hydraulics, pumps and assorted tools.
• Ownership of hand and air/electric tools sufficient for most repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance of Herc fleet at customer job sites.
• Oversee oil changes, lubrication, tire and hose work, battery replacements.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to ensure proper operation on site.
• Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic and propane systems.
• Produce detailed service reports and logs.
• Maintain safe, organized work areas on job sites.
