Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Field Service Mechanic A in Atlanta, GA to lead mechanical service on our fleet at customer job sites. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair heavy equipment, and ensure safe operation while building strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate and test equipment (boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, generators).
• Ability to read schematics, manuals, and warning labels.
• Own a basic set of hand and air/electric tools.
• On-call availability and a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on Herc fleet at customer sites.
• Conduct oil changes, lubrication, tire and hose work, battery replacements.
• Diagnose and repair heavy equipment to ensure safe operation.
• Troubleshoot fuel, electrical, hydraulic, and propane systems.
• Prepare detailed service reports and logs.
• Educate customers on proper equipment use and safety.
