Job summary

Turner Staffing Group is seeking a Field Service Mechanic - Heavy Equipment to diagnose, repair, and maintain a broad range of mobile and support equipment in active field environments. You will handle hydraulic systems, electrical diagnostics, powertrain troubleshooting, and on-site repairs while supporting uptime for fleet operations.

The role requires travel to remote locations, flexible schedules (10×4, 9×5, 8×6), and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with drilling rig systems, high-pressure hydraulics, and mobile haul equipment preferred.
• Familiarity with rig power, hydraulic circuits, and electrically controlled mobile equipment is a plus.
• Experience troubleshooting large-frame mobile equipment used in drilling or material movement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety policies, procedures, and jobsite best practices.
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems on mobile and support equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical faults including wiring, sensors, switches, charging systems, starters, and control circuits.
• Utilize diagnostic tools, software, and test equipment to identify failures and determine corrective action.
• Repair or replace damaged, worn, or failed components in field conditions.
• Perform inspections, routine servicing, and documentation of completed work.
• Dismantle, repair, and reassemble components using hand tools, hoists, and service equipment.
• Read and interpret service manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Perform welding and light fabrication as needed to complete repairs or modifications.
• Maintain accurate service records and communicate equipment status to operations and leadership.
• Exhibit a strong work ethic, adaptability, and a willingness to learn new systems and equipment.
