Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs expert-level break-fix & preventative maintenance, including observing devices in operation, dismantling devices to access and remove defective parts, examining parts for imperfections, adjusting functional parts and control instruments, repairing or replacing defective parts, testing device performance, and conducting tests on electrical circuitry and mechanical systems.
- Identifies and sources parts, supplies, and repair items as needed. Evaluates alternatives to improve cost and reliability of equipment.
- Independently performs maintenance following industry standards.
- Collaborates with customer counterparts to optimize maintenance, reliability, and preventative procedures.
- Sets up and operates multiple machining tools such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, and may perform welding tasks.
- Follows all safety policies, rules, regulations, and standards. Maintains situational awareness to identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.
- Documents work performed, observations, and equipment data in service reports and management systems.
- Assists lower-level technicians and project teams; participates in training and development.
- Troubleshoots and analyzes complex control systems, resolving software/hardware and configuration issues.
- Uses advanced maintenance technologies to monitor equipment performance, observes trends, and makes recommendations.
- Completes on-the-job training and self-study for career growth.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), & Competencies:
- High School diploma or GED; or an associate degree with a technical focus plus 10 years of related experience, or 12 years of industry experience.
- Comprehensive understanding of electrical, mechanical, fluid power, and control systems; able to analyze problems and perform repairs.
- Proficient with basic and specialized hand tools.
- Extensive travel required, including local and international.
Desirable KSAs:
- Experience in condition-based maintenance, mechanical alignments, and process equipment maintenance.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers, field device troubleshooting, and electrical drive and motor systems.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Requires standing, walking, handling, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and occasionally sitting. Must lift/move over 50 pounds, use close and distant vision, and work in loud, potentially hazardous factory environments, sometimes exposed to weather and electrical hazards.
