Job description

The Field Service Lead Technician will install, replace, and perform routine and preventive maintenance on critical power systems. They will provide direction and oversight to other technicians at the jobsite and act as a liaison to the customer.

Reporting Relationship: The Field Service Lead Technician reports to the Service Manager.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

1. Install/replace battery systems, accessories, and hardware.
2. Install/replace power electronics equipment, wiring, and connections.
3. Perform preventive maintenance and testing on battery and charging systems in UPS, Utility, and Telecommunication settings.
4. Analyze job specifications, drawings, and documentation.
5. Perform circuit modifications, including hot-cuts and h-taps.
6. Conduct power transition work.
7. Add or remove circuits on a power distribution source.
8. Equipment turn-up, testing, and programming.
9. Install temporary power solutions on energized systems.
10. Update and correct customer drawings.
11. Lead and direct teams.
12. Participate in safety training and adhere to safety policies.
13. Follow maintenance, installation standards, and proper tool operation.
14. Organize equipment and supplies for job tasks.
15. Train and develop technicians.
16. Perform additional duties as assigned.
