Job description

Design & Integration is currently seeking a Field Service Lead Technician to join our growing Service Department. The Field Service Lead Tech travels to client sites to perform service on audio-video systems. Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment failures, mounting small installations, conducting preventative maintenance, and end-user training. In addition to the technician duties, the Lead Tech will assist the manager with client relationships and administrative duties.

Ideal Candidate

• Has at least four years of direct experience with audio-video integration.
• Is able to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Is passionate about providing quality, professional customer service and has excellent communication skills.
• Can work self-sufficiently with a small team in diverse environments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate daily with the Service Manager to meet departmental objectives.
• Travel on-site to provide expert technical support to our client base.
• Submit detailed service reports following site visits using mHelp Desk.
• Manage ownership of client AV systems and maintain customer relationships.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on AV equipment.
• Design small to mid-sized AV systems that align with customer objectives.
• Continually develop professional competency with regular training and certification on emerging technologies.
• Assist the Service Manager in client relationships and follow up.
• Assist the Service Manager in creating small installation proposals.
• Assist the Service Manager with communication to manufacturers for RMA’s.
• Training new hire techs.

Qualifications

• An Associates or Bachelor’s degree from a university or technical school, or 3+ years of experience in audio-visual technology.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Able to lift in excess of 50 pounds.
• Able to stand, kneel, and crouch for long periods of time.
• Able to climb ladders and scaffolding.
• Able to work in hot or cold environments.
