Job summary

Carrier is seeking a candidate pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in STEM to support commissioning and maintenance of intelligent climate and control systems. You will assist in startup, calibration, and software setup across building automation projects, with travel often local and some overnight stays.

Ideal candidates have a 3.0+ GPA, are eligible to work in the US without sponsorship, and can handle documentation, troubleshooting, and basic test equipment in a dynamic field environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with startup, commission and re-commission of customer systems that utilize pneumatic / electrical / electronic technology.
• Assist with maintaining accurate As-Built drawing package and changes in Visio, Excel, Word.
• Assist during calibration of systems using basic electronic test equipment.
• Assist in commissioning of software programming for building systems.
• Set up operator workstations with associated software.
• Perform daily or scheduled job database backups.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with startup, commission and re-commission of customer systems that utilize pneumatic / electrical / electronic technology
• Assist with maintaining accurate As-Built drawing package and making changes in Visio, Excel, Word, as required
• Assist during calibration of systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, network terminals and/or a laptop computer
• Assist in static (stand-alone) and dynamic (total building interactive network) commissioning of software programming
• Assist in the set-up of operator workstations with all associated software
• Responsible for performing job database backups daily or as advised
• Assist with turnover to service
• Track and record job progress and keep lead project personnel informed on progress
• Keep project management appraised of concerns and issues
• Complete paperwork on time including time sheets, expense reports, posting of work orders, on‑site documentation and project status reports
• Communicate with lead project personnel upon arrival and before leaving the work site

Basic Qualifications

• Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
• Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
• Possess and maintain valid and current Driver’s License and be insurable by our company’s insurance carrier
• Willingness to travel more than 50% of typical work week, mostly local travel and seldom overnight hotel stay

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic understanding of control logic
• Knowledge in DDC control theory and applications pertaining to the HVAC/Control preferred.
• Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment in excess of 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs
• Prior experience in HVAC and/or Building Automation preferred

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $43,500.00 - $87,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction in which the applicant is to be employed.

Other Compensation

Thisposition may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
