Job summary

Carrier is seeking an Engineering intern to support startup, commissioning, and service turnover for customer systems across pneumatic, electrical, and electronic technology platforms. The role requires pursuing an engineering degree with a solid GPA and the ability to work in the US without sponsorship.

You will assist in creating and updating drawings, calibrating systems, and setting up operator workstations, with frequent local travel.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
• Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and be insurable.
• Willingness to travel more than 50% of a typical work week within the local area.

Responsibilities

• Assist with startup, commissioning and re-commissioning of customer systems utilizing pneumatic/electrical/electronic technology.
• Assist in maintaining accurate As-Built drawings and making changes in Bluebeam, Excel, Word as required.
• Assist during calibration of systems with basic electronic test equipment (multimeters, network terminals, laptops).
• Assist in static and dynamic commissioning of software programming.
• Assist in setting up operator workstations with all associated software.
• Back up job databases daily or as advised.
• Assist with turnover to service and track job progress.
• Keep project management informed of concerns and issues.
• Complete paperwork on time including timesheets, expense reports, on-site documentation and status reports.
• Communicate with lead project personnel upon arrival and before leaving the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with startup, commission and re-commission of customer systems that utilize pneumatic / electrical / electronic technology


• Assist with maintaining accurate As-Built drawing package and making changes in Bluebeam, Excel, Word, as required


• Assist during calibration of systems requiring basic electronic test equipment, such as multi-meters, network terminals and/or a laptop computer


• Assist in static (stand-alone) and dynamic (total building interactive network) commissioning of software programming


• Assist in the set-up of operator workstations with all associated software


• Responsible for performing job database backups daily or as advised


• Assist with turnover to service


• Track and record job progress and keep lead project personnel informed on progress


• Keep project management appraised of concerns and issues


• Complete paperwork on time including time sheets, expense reports, on-site documentation and project status reports


• Communicate with lead project personnel upon arrival and before leaving the work site

Basic Qualifications

• Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in any Engineering field.


• Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher


• Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship


• Possess and maintain valid and current Driver’s License and be insurable by our company’s insurance carrier


• Willingness to travel more than 50% of typical work week primarily within the local area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic understanding of HVAC


• Capable of climbing ladders or using other lift equipment in excess of 8 feet above grade, and capable of lifting items up to 50lbs


• Experience in HVAC and/or Building Automation

Pay Range

The annual salary for this position is between $43,500.00 - $87,500.00 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate. The pay range will not be below the minimum wage applicable to the jurisdiction in which the applicant is to be employed.

Other Compensation

Thisposition may be entitled to short-term cash incentives, subject to plan requirements.
