Job summary

Atlas Copco is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service vacuum pumps and systems across the Boise area and surrounding regions. You will travel frequently to customer sites, perform inspections, repairs, and installations, and ensure safety compliance.

This role requires 1-2 years of hands-on maintenance experience, English proficiency, valid driver's license, and the ability to work independently while delivering top-tier customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with electrical/hydraulics/pneumatics training; HVAC knowledge preferred.
• 1–2 years field repair experience on mechanical and electrical equipment, vacuum pumps preferred.
• Willing to travel extensively; rotating on-call evenings/weekends/holidays.
• Able to work independently with strong communication and safety awareness.

Your role

Your mission as the Field Service Engineer is to provide expert repair services for our vacuum pumps and systems, delivering unmatched customer satisfaction and upholding the highest standards of safety. You are committed to ensuring the performance and longevity of your customers technology through your expertise. Your work is important for supporting the operational success and technological advancement of industries relying on these technologies.

You will

• Report into the Field Service Manager.


• Conduct planned and ad hoc visits to inspect, service, troubleshoot, and repair various vacuum pumps and systems. You will also diagnose any issues to prevent equipment downtime.


• Perform installations, ensure safety compliance, and document activities.


• Be the on-site contact, providing service recommendations and addressing customer needs promptly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with technical training in electrical, hydraulics, and/or pneumatics perferred. Knowledgeable of HVAC preferred.


• You have 1-2 years of experience, maintaining and repairing various types of mechanical and electrical equipment, preferably on vacuum pumps or systems.


• Aspiration to keep up to date with the latest technical developments


• Experience in a service position in an industrial and highly technical environment


• Able to work independently with strong self-management and professionalism. Able to complete work within assigned deadlines. Computer proficiency as required for communicaiton, research, work orders and programming various controllers. Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).


• Must be fluent in English and have a valid driver's license.


• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and work in industrial environments including extremes in temerature with continuous walking, reaching, bending, and kneeling.


• Extensive travel to customer locations, including out-of-town and overnight travel. Available for a rotating schedule of on-call work on evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Job location

You will join a dynamic field service team, working remotely and spending a significant amount of time traveling to visit customers within your designated area territory.
