Job summary

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials engineering solutions, is hiring a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, and upgrade SEM-based inspection systems at customer sites. Travel up to 20% may be required.

You will troubleshoot using diagnostics, perform preventative and corrective maintenance on vacuum, electrical, mechanical, and related systems, and coordinate with customers to ensure uptime and service quality.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical training or equivalent experience.
• 4–7 years of experience in semiconductor equipment support or related field.
• Experience with SEM tools or e-beam inspection systems.
• Solid mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Familiarity with hand tools and multimeters.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and upgrade Applied Materials SEM-based inspection systems.
• Troubleshoot equipment with standard diagnostics with help from senior engineers as needed.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electron beam, vacuum, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Support customers in improving defect inspection performance and yield.
• Communicate directly with customers to ensure tool uptime and performance.
