Job summary

Elite Personnel Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Service Engineer to service, maintain, install and repair precision engineering machinery at customer sites across the region.

Candidates should have an engineering apprenticeship, strong fault-finding skills, and the ability to read drawings; a UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• A recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Experience servicing industrial machinery or machine tools.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and diagrams.
• Experience with precision measuring equipment.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Responding to customer breakdowns with effective solutions.
• Rebuilding and replacing mechanical components including bearings, spindles and drive systems.
• Installing and commissioning new equipment.
• Ensuring machinery is aligned, calibrated and operating to specification.
• Producing clear service reports after each visit.
• Advising customers on safe operation and routine maintenance.
• Collaborating with internal technical team to identify parts and resolve issues.
