Job summary

Xylem in Hazelwood, MO seeks an experienced engineer to lead complex site surveys and develop installation design plans. You will train customers and engineers on advanced tools and calibrations, and plan labor, materials, and costs for proposals. Strong PLC knowledge and leadership skills are essential.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, a BS/BA in Engineering, and travel up to 50%. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, efficient system designs and successful project

  • Develop and submit reports covering all job activities.
  • Provide guidance to prevent problems and deliver effective solutions.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of professional principles and skills.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS

  • Leads and guides the most complex site surveys to develop base or installation design plans
  • Trains customers and other engineers to maintain and adjust very complex tools, test equipment, calibrations items, etc.
  • May develop and design the planning and estimating of labor categories, rates, material dollar costs, transportation expenses and per diem rates to complete the most complex proposals.
  • Guides the review of very complex task plans, drawings, and installation schematics and provides continual guidance throughout task duration
  • Develops and submits reports covering all job activities
  • Preempts potential problems and provides effective solutions in reaction to application of concepts, techniques, knowledge or processes
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of professional principals and skills
  • Seeks advice and guidance on non routine or problem areas for others
  • Applies judgment and authority for safety stop work
  • Advanced computer skills (for ability to operate corporate tools)
  • Independently performs basic and possibly more advanced tasks and functions for professional field of work
  • Specialized skill/training or certification may be required in addition to all prior level Tech training requirements

1. FORMAL EDUCATION: REQUIRED:

  • BS/BA degree in Engineering
  • 8+ yrs of experience
