Job summary

Applied Materials is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment in the Dallas–Richardson and Sherman TX area. You will use digital analytics to troubleshoot and address technical issues, with training provided for maintenance across electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems.

The role requires an Associate degree or military/technical training, plus 2–7 years in field service or related technical work, and travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or military technical training or trade certification.
• 2-7 years in customer/field service or related technical field.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics.
• Familiarity with hand tools and digital multimeters.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain passport for travel.
• Able to meet on-site safety, environmental guidelines, and COVID-19 protocols.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers in installing, maintaining, and upgrading customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting.
• Apply basic diagnostic techniques to assess equipment and address issues with guidance from Senior Field Service Engineers.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers.
• Fulfill additional duties, as assigned.
