About the Role
Canon U.S.A., Inc. seeks an entry‑level Field Service Engineer I – Semiconductor in San Jose, CA to support photolithography equipment customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, calibrate, and maintain semiconductor process equipment while minimizing downtime.
- Escalate advanced repairs to senior technicians.
- Monitor, inspect, and maintain equipment to prevent malfunctions.
- Document maintenance activity and provide periodic reports.
- Monitor stock levels of service parts and equipment to ensure adequate inventory.
- Provide training and assistance to technicians and customers.
- Participate in ongoing technical training to expand expertise.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; AA or BS in related field preferred.
- Less than one year related experience (FSE, technician in semiconductor equipment).
- Valid driver’s license; travel up to 30% domestically and occasional overseas.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Ability to work flexible and compressed shifts, independently prioritize tasks, and maintain composure in high‑pressure situations.
- Physical requirements: lift up to 30 lbs, frequent standing, walking, typing, visual acuity for inspection; work in a cleanroom environment (suit, mask, gloves, safety glasses).
Compensation
Hourly rate: $27.88 – $41.75.
