Position Details:

  • Location: REMOTELY in Cambridge, MA area, supporting the New England region.
  • Division: Instruments and Enterprise Services (IES).

Responsibilities:

  • Repair, install, and maintain laboratory equipment such as incubators, centrifuges, refrigeration units, etc.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and corrective service to ensure equipment uptime.
  • Provide onsite training to Biomedical Engineering Technicians or advanced operators.
  • Manage expenses and inventory accurately.
  • Document service actions in the work order database.
  • Maintain courteous communication with customers regarding service events.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Electronics or Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in field service, repair, or servicing medical/laboratory equipment.
  • Strong electronic, electrical, and mechanical skills; refrigeration experience is a plus.
  • Experience with test equipment like DMM, tachometers, temperature devices, etc.

Skills and Work Environment:

  • Proficient with computers and smartphones.
  • Effective interpersonal and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues independently using schematics and manuals.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs with assistance and carry 25-30 lbs throughout the day.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the territory, including overnight travel.
