Job Description

Segra is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our Kansas City, MO team. We are open to candidates at various levels based on experience and competency.

The role involves managing daily network activities, including equipment installation, commissioning, circuit and node turn-up, testing, and troubleshooting of transport, switching, and IP/Data networks. Responsibilities also include customer premise equipment management and on-call duties. The FSE will collaborate with customers, technicians, and support staff.

Required Qualifications:

• Knowledge of telecom equipment (e.g., Cisco, Ciena)
• Minimum 2 years of telecom equipment experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree or technical training in a related field
• Experience with Cisco and/or Ciena equipment
• Understanding of AC/DC power fundamentals; good driving record; Office 365 proficiency
• Ability to interpret engineering documents and operate industry test sets (DS1-100G, OTDR, fiber scopes)
• Knowledge of DC power support for tertiary applications
• Ability to work independently and make routine decisions on major projects
