Job summary

JBT Marel is actively seeking an engineer with a strong background in software and hardware integration to work on automated systems. You will install, test, and modify autonomous equipment, while traveling to customer sites and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role requires CAD proficiency, ability to read engineering drawings, and hands-on experience with C/C++, MATLAB, and Python. Travel will be extensive, up to 75% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• BS or BSET in Engineering (Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Robotics, CS, CE, Mechatronic, etc.).
• Minimum 2+ years of full-time engineering work experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Prior software experience required (C, C++, MATLAB, Python, Visual Basic preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365.

Responsibilities

• Install autonomous vehicles and peripheral equipment (chargers, I/O panels, operator interfaces, etc.).
• Perform system testing, debugging, and validation to ensure optimal performance.
• Travel (60-75% of the time) domestically and internationally to customer sites.
• Modify equipment and software.
• Troubleshoot, define and seek resources to resolve electrical, mechanical and/or software improvement opportunities with system components.
• Make software and hardware adjustments.
• Monitor system performance metrics.
• Perform customer training.
• Interface with customers.
• Collaborate with other engineers on projects.
