About the Role
Are you seeking an opportunity to work with semiconductor manufacturing equipment? As a Field Service Engineer 1, you will provide customer support for onsite installations, repairs, and maintenance of photolithography semiconductor equipment primarily in Hillsboro, Oregon. This is an exciting opportunity to be on the cutting edge of technology and join a dedicated team enabling new technology to improve processes in a pre-production environment.
You will receive 1-2 weeks of training in Austin, Texas or Japan and 4 weeks of on-the-job training in Hillsboro, Oregon. This position requires full-time presence at your assigned office(s)/worksite(s)/territory. Note: The position will work a compressed work week on either day or night shifts and requires flexibility to change work schedules as needed.
Your Impact
- Check and maintain equipment within factory standard specifications.
- Instruct customers in the operation and maintenance of the system equipment.
- Perform repair, maintenance, or unit replacement according to factory procedures independently and with others.
- Provide technical support to customers and respond to questions regarding operation procedures, equipment malfunctions, and other technical issues to minimize downtime and ensure positive customer relations.
- Identify and report equipment errors and status updates related to performance issues to aid troubleshooting or maintenance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of activities and provide periodic reports.
- Work with other technicians in the field to troubleshoot and service equipment.
- Domestic and international travel may be required (must have up-to-date travel documents).
About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring
- This is a customer-facing role requiring compliance with customer policies, including COVID-19 vaccination and other measures.
- Knowledge of Linux operating system is helpful for operating and troubleshooting systems.
- Minimum 0-2 years of related electromechanical work experience (e.g., field service engineer or technician in a semiconductor equipment company or engineering field). Lithography experience and high-precision equipment experience are preferred.
- Hands-on mechanical skills and electronic testing tools experience are required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team under challenging situations.
- Additional knowledge in optical, lasers, software, robotics, precision mechanical skills, or chemicals is a plus.
- Prior troubleshooting skills with good verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer support experience is a plus.
- Must be able to travel and work flexible schedules.
- Comfortable working in a cleanroom environment (full cleanroom suit, facemask, gloves, safety glasses).
- May require up to 25% travel (domestic and international). Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are necessary.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; assistance available for heavier lifts.
- Physical requirements include standing, walking, typing, grasping, talking, hearing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs or ladders.
- Visual acuity for detailed inspection and measurement.
- Work environment may include proximity to moving parts, electrical currents, chemicals, ultraviolet light, lasers, enclosed spaces, and narrow passageways.
- Ability to work in time-sensitive situations requiring quick resolution of equipment problems.
Anticipated hourly rate: $24.39 - $36.53.
