Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a field-focused role in Dallas, Texas, where you will support customers through hands-on service work on High Voltage Gas-Insulated Switchgear and related equipment. This position requires on-site technical support for project execution across multiple active sites nationwide.

Ideal candidates will have relevant engineering experience and the ability to manage teams and conflicts. The role includes supervision of installation and commissioning activities, maintaining safety compliance, and ensuring detailed documentation of site work.

Qualifications

• Candidate must already have work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in the US.
• Relevant experience in engineering or construction environments, preferably in the power industry.
• Ability to manage teams and conflict situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support across all project execution phases.

The Opportunity

In this US‑based, field‑focused role, you support customers through hands‑on service work on High Voltage Gas‑Insulated Switchgear and related substation equipment. You work directly at customer sites across the United States, including substations, utilities, and industrial power facilities, providing technical support throughout all phases of project execution. Your work includes installation, commissioning, testing, acceptance, and handover activities, often across multiple active sites based on customer needs and service demand. This role combines practical engineering execution with on‑site problem solving in live operating environments. Through direct customer interaction and detailed site work, you contribute to the safe, reliable operation and ongoing service of critical high‑voltage infrastructure supporting the US power grid.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Provide technical support across all project execution phases, including commissioning, testing, acceptance, and handover
• Supervise installation and commissioning activities for GIS substations at customer sites
• Run troubleshooting activities involving field personnel and subcontractors
• Maintain compliance with safety standards and company policies at all job sites
• Ensure correct use of tools, equipment, vehicles, materials, and supplies at site locations
• Oversee contracted maintenance activities to confirm work is completed effectively and efficiently
• Maintain detailed site documentation including operational procedures, performance reports, test data, and equipment manuals
• Coordinate and communicate internally and externally to enable smooth completion of site operations
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background
