Job summary

Laitram Machinery, a division of Laitram, LLC, is seeking a Field Installation and Service Technician to service Gulf Coast accounts from a home-office base and report to the Customer Service Manager in New Orleans, LA. The role focuses on installations, training, and equipment optimization.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in mechanical/electrical tech, able to travel 30% domestically and internationally, and capable of leading subcontractors while ensuring high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5+ years' of work experience as a mechanical or electrical technician.
• Ability to travel extensively (30%).
• Valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Ability to install, troubleshoot and repair equipment and control systems.
• Read and understand manuals and drawings to self-teach new tech.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Proficient with Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and perform mechanical and electrical installation and commissioning.
• Lead subcontractors engaged by Laitram Machinery.
• Train customers to operate and optimize equipment.
• Plan trials to optimize performance and demonstrate value.
• Provide warranty support by diagnosing failures and ordering parts.
• Provide feedback to Engineering and R&D to improve equipment.
• Assist commercial team in selling equipment and services.
• Position is performed at the facility.
