Job summary

Modern Process Equipment (MPE) Chicago, IL is seeking a Field Service Engineer to travel across North America installing and commissioning our grinders and conveying equipment for leading food and beverage customers. You will diagnose tough problems, perform preventive maintenance, and keep systems running at peak performance with the support of our engineering and operations teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with processing equipment in food or industrial settings.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with PLCs, motors, drives, and industrial control systems.
• Willingness to travel domestically 50–70% with occasional Canada/Mexico trips.

Responsibilities

• Install and commission MPE equipment at customer sites across North America.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and process issues under deadlines.
• Perform preventive maintenance and optimize systems to minimize downtime.
• Provide on-site training and write detailed service reports; coordinate travel logistics.
