Job summary

MKD Electric is seeking a Field Service Engineer- Electrical Testing to perform preventive maintenance, repair, and commissioning on low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems up to 500kV. The role requires good mechanical and electrical understanding and the ability to work with diverse teams to deliver high-quality service and customer satisfaction.

You will perform transformer and relay tests, troubleshoot complex control schemes, and ensure safety protocols are followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in Electrical Technology or 4-year electrical apprenticeship preferred or equivalent military training.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical testing field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with clients.
• Ability to work independently without close supervision and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Instrument, CT, PT, and CPT transformer testing.
• Power transformer testing: Doble, TTR, insulation resistance, winding resistance.
• Test electro-mechanical and solid-state relays.
• Cable testing: Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC/AC-Hi-Pot testing.
• Troubleshoot ATS and understand sequences of operation.
• Read and interpret one-line diagrams.
• Maintain safety compliance and electrical safety practices.
