Job summary

MKD Electric is seeking a Field Service Engineer specialized in Electrical Testing to deliver preventative maintenance, repair, and commissioning support on low, medium, and high voltage systems up to 500kV. You will leverage your electrical and mechanical knowledge to perform transformer testing, relay testing, and cable diagnostics while ensuring safety and customer satisfaction.

You will work with a team to complete service orders, document activities, and participate in training programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; prefer an associate degree or completion of an electrical apprenticeship.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical testing field.
• Strong written and verbal communication with clients.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel nights/weekends as needed.
• OSHA 30-hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E and CPR/First Aid training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform instrument, CT, PT, and CPT transformer testing.
• Conduct power transformer testing (Doble, TTR, insulation resistance, winding resistance).
• Test electro-mechanical and solid-state relays.
• Perform cable testing (Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC/AC hi-pot).
• Troubleshoot ATS and interpret operation sequences and diagrams.
• Read one-line diagrams and understand control schemes.
• Work safely following electrical safety core principles.
