Job summary

MKD Electric, LLC is seeking a Field Service Engineer- Electrical Testing to perform preventative maintenance, repair, and commissioning on low, medium, and high voltage systems up to 500kV. The role requires mechanical and electrical understanding, strong safety practices, and the ability to support customers across multiple sites.

The candidate will test transformers, relays, and cables, perform administration tasks, and complete on-boarding trainings including CPR/First Aid, Arc Flash/PPE,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in electrical testing field.
• Ability to read electrical schematic drawings.
• Ability to read electrical one-line diagrams.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Willingness to travel including overnight stays as needed to meet customer requirements.

Responsibilities

• Instrument, CT, PT, and CPT transformer testing.
• Power transformer testing – Doble, TTR, insulation resistance, winding resistance.
• Test both electro-mechanical and solid-state relays.
• Cable testing – Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC/AC-Hi-Pot testing.
• Automatic Transfer Switch troubleshooting and understanding sequence of operation.
• Understand and troubleshoot/test complex 83-control schemes.
• Demonstrate understanding of a one-line diagram.
• Work safely and adhere to electrical safety practices and procedures.
