Wonik IPS is hiring a Field Service Engineer to support equipment installations and service at our Austin office. The role focuses on new equipment setups during rapid growth in the semiconductor market, with an intensive training period during the first 3–4 months.

Salary ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 per year, depending on experience, with 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision, plus an 8% 401(k) company match and 15 days of vacation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in an engineering field.
• Experience with semiconductor equipment and processes is required.
• CVD or ALD experience is a strong plus.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on customer-site equipment to maximize tool uptime.
• Lead installation projects and ensure schedule adherence with EHS compliance.
• Analyze equipment alarms and implement CIP improvements.
• Act as the primary technical contact and manage VOC feedback.
• Coordinate with HQ Korea and suppliers for root-cause analysis.
• Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and site records.
• Travel domestically and internationally (20%+).

Job Summary We are hiring a skilled Field Service Engineer to support our client, Wonik IPS, at their Austin Office. Due to the rapid growth of the semiconductor market, this role will be heavily focused on continuous new equipment setups. We are looking for a dedicated professional with a strong foundation in semiconductor equipment to join our team. Please note that the first 3-4 months will consist of an intensive, hands-on training period where you will be traveling to sites and working directly alongside the management team.

Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 per year(Depending on experience and qualifications)

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Customer Service: Perform routine and emergency equipment maintenance at customer sites to ensure maximum tool uptime.

Process Improvement: Manage Continuous Improvement Processes (CIP), track and analyze equipment alarms, and develop effective technical solutions.

Customer Relations: Act as the primary technical point of contact, managing Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback and leading customer meetings.

Installation Management: Lead equipment installation projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule while strictly adhering to customer Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations.

Failure Analysis: Regularly communicate with the Global Headquarters in Korea and various suppliers to perform root cause analysis on equipment and part failures.

Documentation: Maintain accurate technical records, manage site-specific issues in the database, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and check sheets.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Associate degree or higher in an Engineering-related field.

Experience: Prior experience with semiconductor equipment and processes is required .

CVD Expertise (Preferred): Specific experience in the CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) or ALD (Atomic Layer Deposition) department is a strong plus.

Bilingual Skills (Preferred): Proficiency in both English and Korean is highly preferred to facilitate technical communication with the HQ in Korea.

Travel: Ability to travel domestically and internationally (20% or higher).

Flexibility: Willingness to support extended hours, including night calls and weekend responses as required by customer needs.
